I can tell by the way my butt fits...

I bought a pair of Lucky jeans back in 2006. They are "stylish" and very comfortable. I had paid a good price for them but nothing too expensive. I had gotten a good deal for the Luckys and I usually keep jeans for a good long while.

Tiny problem(s) though. They are low cut and slim fit in the butt. Nice and stylish jeans but that combination always made my butt look big and honestly a little uncomfortable and a hassle. So I rarely would wear them. Up until now. I've been working out with a personal trainer for the last couple of months and been getting some serious form back to my body. In Phoenix, you don't get a desire to wear jeans that often, but pulling those jeans out earlier today and putting them on, I can tell that I'm in a lot better shape. I can tell by the way my butt fits in those jeans now.

Sure, I've worn clothes that would flatter me and hide my inadequacies in my figure. Just pick the right colors. Just pick the right style. Long sleeve T's with sleeves pushed up helps hide the gut and accentuates the chest and shoulders. Yah, I know these things. Wearing bagging jeans and t-shirts has a way of saying "I'm cool. I'm casual. I'm normal." Problem is, it doesn't mean you're in good shape, and changing what you wears doesn't mean a thing when it comes down to how good of shape your body is in and what you are actually capable of doing. And quite honestly, I don't want to just be "normal." Those jeans were my benchmark.

Forget the pretty leaves. Forget the tall vines. Forget the flowers that bloom early in the season. We are judged solely by the fruit that we bear. Perhaps I should start paying more attention to my "other" Personal Trainer a little bit more and making sure I start shaping up in more critical areas of my life.

yay! You posted!

I especially like the part at the end where you continue the metaphor that the blossoming flowers and leaves don't matter in the end. Very true.

Nice. I keep a few pieces of clothing that don't fit anymore as a goal to get back into (eventually). I need to see these Lucky jeans though...

glad to see you posted again - i miss it when you don't write. i got a little thrown, though, when you brought up the flowers and vines and then tuned back in with the "other" personal trainer. It's great you're getting in shape, mike, both ways!

It was about time for another post. I probably had about 5 or 6 people start asking me where they were before I put this one back up. Glad to know that people enjoy these. Perhaps if I started working out a little more in the near future, we'll have some more for you peeps to read.
